GENERAL ASSISTANCE
On your registration forms, a number of you have indicated a desire to help out with various activities such as phoning, field maintenance, coaching, etc. To this end, please be sure you follow through on this and offer your services as needed to your team's coaches. In particular, coaches are always appreciative of assistance with:

- Scorekeeping
- Concession Duties
- Assistance with Drills at practices
- Helping coordinate players on the bench during games

Gordon Head Baseball Association (GHBA) is seeking Expressions of Interest from interested Managers for our 2012 Pee Wee & Mosquito Prospects Program.
Background:
The Prospects program is an extension of the spring house program and is intended as an opportunity for more competitive players (summer ball candidates) to further
challenge and develop their abilities against the top players from other baseball associations within Greater Victoria.
Manager Expectations:
This application should include the following minimum information:
Applications must be emailed to the President of GHBA, Keith Davidoff by no later than the end of day February 16, 2012.
Certification
All coaches within GHBA are encouraged to obtain formal certification and training through NCCP Baseball coaching clinics and courses. These range from basic introductory level technical courses (also called Initiation Coach), through to more advanced Level 2 and 3 Technical and Theory courses. Technical clinics are often run within Victoria during March. Theory and other advanced courses may be run at any time. Further details on available and upcoming clinics and the NCCP Certification program, please refer to the Baseball BC web site at:

Background:

Manager Expectations:
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and to lead by example;
• Have a minimum Level 2 NCCP certification;
• At least one game and one practice will be held per week over and above the regular spring house program. The Manager would be required to be in attendance of all of these games and practices;
• Be in attendance at spring house program assessments;
• Involved with coach selection and support and mentor coaches;
• Organize practices to further Player development;
This application should include the following minimum information:
- Coaching experience and successes;
2 Coaching philosophy and approach you would take in coaching the Prospects team; and - Level of NCCP certification & certification number.

NOTE:
- Any coaches wishing to coach a summer all-star team at either the Pee Wee or Mosquito level are required to have a minimum level of certification in place.
- Gordon Head Baseball will reimburse coaches for any fees incurred for these courses. Prior approval must be obtained.

Pee Wee and older age players and adults are eligible to umpire at the Mosquito level (Level 1). Bantam age and older players and adults are eligible to umpire at the Pee Wee level (Level 2). Gordon Head Baseball Association (GHBA) covers the registration costs for GHBA umpires.
New umpires MUST take a Level 1 Umpire Clinic. Level 2 must be taken every year.
Additional Umpire Clinics for 2012 and additional umpiring information will posted on the 'News' section of the website as information is made available.
Please register by emailing the appropriate contact person for the clinic you are planning on attending. Also, please ‘cc’ the Gordon Head Baseball Association (GHBA) Umpire in Chief (UIC). In order for GHBA to cover registration costs, the UIC must know, in advance, what clinic you are attending.
