Attention: Gordon Head Peewee/Lambrick Park Bantam and Midget Players/Parents

Umpire clinics for both Level 1 and Level 2 have been scheduled (see below).

GHBA will pay for registration for those that are interested in umpiring for GHBA but not for any other association. Pee Wee aged players (born in 1998 or 1999) are to take Level 1 and will be able to umpire Mosquito games. Older players can either take Level 1 or Level 2 clinic. Level 2 is a requirement to umpire at the Pee Wee level.

For Level 1, there is no test and only participation in the clinic is required to obtain your certification. Level 2 requires successful passing of the Level 2 exam (80% or better). If you have not been certified as a Level 2 umpire in the past, you must register and take a Level 2 Clinic.

If you have been Level 2 certified in the past, and are considering taking the Level 2 exam without participating in the clinic, you must contact GHBA’s Umpire in Chief immediately. You will still be required to register and pay online with BC Baseball Umpires Association (BCBUA). However, I strongly encourage everyone to register and participate in the appropriate clinic.

For your information, umpire fees for last year were as follows and will likely be the same for the upcoming year;

Pee Wee (Level 2):
  • Plate - $25.00
  • Base - $20.00

Mosquito (Level 1):
  • Plate - $15.00
  • Base - $12.50

If you would like to sign up for a clinic, please contact the person in charge of that clinic. You must pre-register in a clinic in order to attend. Also, please cc me on the email, or email me separately, so I know which clinic you are attending and to arrange payment.

If you know someone who is interested in umpiring, and may not be on this distribution list, feel free to forward this email and have them contact me.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me by email or by tel. 250 477-6174.

Thanks
