The Gordon Head Baseball Association (GHBA) provides a comprehensive baseball program for players from 4 to 12 years old, in 5 separate divisions including Blastball, Initiation, Novice, Mosquito and Pee Wee. We are part of the British Columbia Minor Baseball Association (BCMBA) and locally, play under the jurisdiction of the Greater Victoria Minor Baseball Association (GVMBA). Our program has three distinct playing seasons, depending on player age and ability:
- Spring (April to June) – for recreational and developmental baseball at the Blastball, Initiation and Novice levels and for competitive city-wide house ball at the Mosquito and Pee Wee levels.
- Summer (July and August) – for All-Star competitive baseball at the Mosquito and Pee Wee level; and
- Fall (September and October) – for single level, recreational house ball for 11 and 12 year olds (run through Lambrick Park Baseball Association)
Spring House League
Gordon Head Baseball Association runs a co-ed baseball program for children aged 4 to 12, playing in 5 divisions. These divisions are set by B.C. Minor Baseball, with players grouped according to ages. The age of the player is determined by how old the player was as of midnight December 31, 2009 (for the 2010 baseball season).
Older players are able to play at our sister association Lambrick Park Baseball Association also located at Lambrick Park. The Bantam division (for those born in 1995 and 1996) and the Midget division (for those born in 1992, 1993 and 1994) are tiered for better competition.

Summer All-Star Tournament Teams
General
Players registered in the Pee Wee and Mosquito divisions are eligible to play tournament baseball in July and August. These programs draw players from all teams within the Greater Victoria Minor Baseball Association and tier tournament players into 'A', 'AA' and 'AAA' teams according to age and ability. Tryouts for tournament teams commonly take place in May and June. Prior to that we will also run a "Prospects" program to give interested players a chance to play some other ball against other park's Prospect teams.
Prospects
The Gordon Head Pee Wee and Mosquito programs run a "Prospects" program every season. Coaches are asked to identify 2-4 players from each house league team that are interested in playing all-star baseball or who simply want some extra playing time at a higher level of competition. These teams will then play exhibition games against "Prospects" teams from other parks.
Tryouts
Tryouts for Mosquito and Pee Wee All-Star teams commonly take place in June.
Games
Pee Wee and Mosquito All-Star teams commonly will play games on the weekends in July which then lead up to Island and Provincial Championships that are usually held on the August long weekend and the preceding weekend to that. At the Pee Wee level, depending on the tier, Provincial Championships are held later in August, and depending on success, there is a possibility to advance to both Western Canadian and National championship tournaments. Mosquito all-star teams complete their season on the August long weekend.

The Fall Classic Baseball League - 2010
After seven successful seasons the Fall Classic Baseball League will return for 2009. In 2009, there were almost 200 players on 14 teams.
Pee Wees, Bantams, and Midgets play “under the lights” in late Summer and early Fall for a fun filled 10 game schedule of extra baseball. The league will start after Labour Day weekend and continue until mid October, with two games per week.
Players from 9-17 years old will play at the Mosquito (9-10), Pee Wee (11-12), Bantam (13-14), or Midget (15-17) levels.
Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget Games will be held on weeknights at Lambrick Park and on weekends at Lambrick and possibly other parks, depending on registration. Mosquito games will be held at various parks with dedicated Mosquito diamonds.
Lambrick Park Baseball will once again be fielding teams for this extra season of minor baseball.
Space is limited so register now for The 2010 Fall Classic Baseball League and enjoy our extra season under the lights at Lambrick Park.

To all:
On the Print Documents page you will now find the assessment schedule and commitment letter for those that are interested in summer ball.
Teams are typically formed as soon as our playoffs are completed in mid-June and will run right through to the Provincials on the August long weekend. I would encourage all families that are interested to pursue it as it is an excellent competitive baseball opportunity. I do want to be clear from past experience that the expectation is that you be prepared to attend all practices, games and tournaments including the possibility of at least one road trip. Please note that summer ball will take up a considerable amount of July.
If you are interested please be at our Mosquito diamond at 5:30 on Monday May 17, 2010 for the first assessment (bring your completed commitment letter).
If you have any questions at all on summer ball or the assessment process don’t hesitate to ask at Saturday's game.
Regards,
Keith Davidoff
